This kind of curve is observed in the case of underpopulation of reindeer growing in a predator-free natural environment having plenty of food. In this case, the curve formed is J- curve the small population first takes time to adjust to the new environment so there is no increase in the population. Once they get adopted they multiply exponentially. This growth & multiplication continues so far the food is available. After some time the food supply becomes less as compared to the population increases. This causes mass starvation & mortality & results in the formation of J Shaped curve.
