Why is it necessary to platinize the electrodes of a conductivity cell before it is used for conductance measurement?
Because platinization will increase the surface area of the electrode on which the hydrogen gas will contact with hydrogen ions. Due to this the reactions happen faster and lead to better conduction measurement.
