Why SF4 is easily hydrolyzed, whereas SF6 is resistant to hydrolysis?

Because the Sulphur atom in SF4SF4 is not sterically protected as it is surrounded by only four F atoms, which easily attack by water molecules. In the case of SF6SF6, the S atom is protected by 6F atoms.
