Propanal is more reactive than propanone. Give reason.

Due to the presence of alkyl groups on both sides of the carbonyl carbon, propanone is sterically more hindered than propanal, making it less reactive to nucleophilic attack. Both methyl groups have an electron-releasing tendency due to the -I effect. This is the reason why propanal is more reactive than propanone.
