A continuous change in a biotic community is called biotic or eco-succession. A stage of climax is also achieved in the process of succession. Succession is of two types primary and secondary. The pattern of succession in any community is decided by pre-existing conditions of that place. Three kinds of patterns have been observed: Xerosere, Hydrosere and Merosere.
