Geitonogamy flowering plants are genetically autogamous but functionally cross-pollinated? Justify?

Geitonogamy. It is a transfer of pollen grains from the anther to the stigma of another flower of the same plant. Geitonogamy is functionally cross-pollination because it involves a pollinating agent, however genetically it is similar to autogamy since the pollen grains come from the same plant.
