The measures taken by the Government for the protection and conservation of our biological diversity are: (a) Periodic census are conducted to find out the latest position and trends in this regard. (b) Tiger reserves have been set up. Project Tiger is a great success. (c) Rhinos in Assam and elephants in Periyar are being conserved. (d) Several national parks and bird sanctuaries have been set up.
