Solution: Let m + 2n = a ∴ (m + 2n)2 x2 – 22x (m + 2n) + 72 = a2x2 – 22ax + 72 = a2x2 – 18ax – 4ax + 72 = ax(ax – 18) – 4(ax – 18) = (ax – 4) (ax – 18) = {(m + 2n)x – 4)} {(m + 2n)x – 18)} = (mx + 2nx – 4) (mx + 2nx – 18).
