While lighting a bulb through a battery, the chemical energy of the battery gets converted into the electric energy which further gets converted into light energy along with heat energy. That is why after lighting a bulb for some time, it gets heated up. One form of energy can be transformed to another form but it cannot be created or destroyed. Chemical energy→Electric energy→Light energy + Heat energy
