(1) In the animals belonging to Platyhelminthes and Nematoda, there is no true internal body cavity or coelom, in which well-developed organs can be accommodated. (2) The body of Platyhelminthes is flattened dorsiventrally. (3) At the same time there is partial development of coelom and thus show little advancement over acoelomate condition. (4) The animals belonging to these two phyla are triploblastic and they enclose a body cavity. (5) The coelomic cavity is filled with some substance and hence they are known as pseudo coelomate.
