Why does an atom of Argon have zero valency? Explain using the electronic configuration of Argon.

The electronic configuration of argon is 2,8,8. The outermost shell has 8 electrons so there is no need to gain or loose electrons to make it octet(i.e.8 shells in the outermost shell). Hence its valency is 0.
