What criteria should be applied for the elimination or selection of ideas?
The designer is required to think of a lot of ideas in order to select and reject the same based on the requirements of the design, through associative thinking. Once this process is done, the designer may classify the ideas and test each of them based on the following criteria: 1. Form and beauty- The design should be appealing and properly structured. 2. Functional requirements- The design should meet the purpose associated. 3. Usability- The design should be as such that can be used properly so that it would be easy to understand. 4. Communicability of message- The message of the design should be clear and not complicated to reach a wider audience. 5. Technological requirements- The design should meet the technological requirements and must be laid out accordingly.6. Printing issues- The message should be clear and not become a victim of certain printing issues when printed. The fonts and background should be checked thoroughly. 7. Moral and ethical issues- It shouldn’t tamper the sentiments of the people involved.
