What are the different stages a graphic designer has to go through from conceptualisation to the end product?
The various stages from concept generation to end product are as follows: Concept generation- The visual theme, language and treatment are decided in this process. At least 3 to 5 such concepts are shown to the client and one is selected by the client. Sometimes all of them may be rejected or a few of them are merged based on the client’s suggestions. Assets creation and collection- As the concept is set, the assets are then developed. High-quality sketches, illustrations, images, photographs, animations, and video clips including texts such as slogans, quotes, captions etc. are either created or collected. Visual design- The visual design should be impactful and thus stress is laid upon the layout, grid and typography. The assets should be aligned properly and arranged so that the overall design becomes appealing and impactful. Prototype or Dummy- At least three prototypes are prepared which are made to look like the final copy of the design. These are then shown to the client who then makes certain suggestions which are incorporated into the final design. Implementation- The designer prepares the artwork which is then signed by the client as an approval. The technical flaws are corrected in the soft copy sent by the designer to the client and the work is then published.
