What are the various steps involved in planning a design for a website?
A website is a set of connected pages belonging to a similar field. Graphic designers follow several steps in planning a design for the website. The designers follow two principles while planning a design for a website, ‘centre of interest’ and ‘user habits’. These two main principles help guide the designer to make the interface a success. ‘Centre of interests’ is based on the appeal the visual of the website has on the viewers. It consists of the font, the background, the animations used, the highlights and the aesthetic appearance of the website. The second principle ‘user habits’ concentrates more on the comfort of the reader, the orientation of the device they use, the reading habits. Mostly the readers seem to follow ‘the reading gravity’ where the reader reads from top to bottom and there are many such patterns and layouts that are considered while designing a website.
