Fundamentally, there is no difference between an electric motor and an electric generator. In our daily use, all motors work as generators, and all generators behave like motors. However, as the name suggests, an Electric generator generates electricity. On the other hand, an electric motor uses electricity. Additionally, an electric motor transforms electrical energy into mechanical energy, and an electric generator transforms mechanical energy into electrical energy.
