Explain why rusting of iron objects is faster in coastal areas than in deserts.

When iron is exposed to environmental condition it terribly reacts with water and air and ends up with iron rusting. Contact with water and oxygen is required for iron to rust. Because the humidity in coastal locations is higher than in deserts, iron objects rust faster in coastal areas than in deserts.
