Who was A.O. Hume? What role did he play in the history of India?
Hume founded the Indian National Congress. He was also an ornithologist, and he is known as the "Father of Indian Ornithology." A.O Hume arrived in India in 1849 and joined the Bengal Civil Service at Etawah in the North-Western Provinces, now Uttar Pradesh, the following year.
