South African people were divided on the basis of race-white, black, Indian and coloured races. Ac-cording to the law, these races were not allowed to mingle with each other, to live near each other or even to use common facilities. In South Africa, under the laws, hospitals, ambulance, trains, buses and even bus stops were also separate. The facilities which were provided to the white people were well equipped and the best land was reserved for the white people. Non-whites were not allowed to vote. Black and coloured people were not considered to be equal to whites.
