Fluorine forms only one oxoacid, HOF Fluorine cannot have oxidation states more than +1. Fluorine does not have oxidation state more than +1 because it doesn’t have a d-orbital Fluorine is a member of group 17 and has smaller atomic radii. Fluorine has a high electronegativity due more number of protons in nucleus and compared to its size. Final Answer Fluorine has only one oxoacid because -: Absence of d-orbital High electronegativity Small size
