Newton’s Second law of motion states that when an unbalanced external force acts on an object, its velocity changes, that is, the object gets accelerated. It can also be stated as the time rate of change of the momentum of a body is equal in both magnitude and direction to the force applied on it. Mathematically – F = ma , where ‘F’ is the force, ‘m’ is the mass of the object, and ‘a’ is the acceleration.
