Option A) New Delhi : The iconic rifle and soldier's war helmet, which were part of the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate, were taken to the National War Memorial on May 27, 2022. It was a symbol of the soldiers who died in the 1971 war, up to the param warrior site at the National War Memorial. The Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate was merged with the eternal flame at the National War Memorial (NWM) in January 2022. NWM is about 400 meters from India Gate. The Amar Jawan Jyoti was built as a memorial to the Indian soldiers who died in action in the Indo-Pak war of 1971, which India won, and thus led to the creation of Bangladesh. It was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on 26 January 1972.
