Privatisation of industry and agriculture and the new economic policies helped the Chinese economy to break from stagnation but unemployment has risen in China. Nearly 100 million people are in search of jobs. Women employment and conditions of work are miserable. Privatisation of agriculture and industry have increased corruption and environmental degradation. It also increased economic inequality between rural and urban residents and coastal and inland provinces.
