Meaning of SAARC-The SAARC is an organisation of eight countries of South Asia—Bhutan, India, Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. SAARC was established primarily for co-operation in agriculture, rural development, science and technology, culture, health, population control, narcotics and terrorism. Objectives of SAARC-The objectives of SAARC are: to promote the welfare of the people of South to accelerate economic growth, social progress and cultural development in the region to promote and strengthen collective self-reliance among the member countries.
