Guru Nanak founded the Sikh religion in 15th c and came up as a guide for the community. This practice of Guru as a leader continued till 1708 with Guru Gobind Singh as the 10th Guru. He then compiled the knowledge in the form of Holy scripture Sri Guru Granth Sahib. The title of ‘Sachcha Padshah’ literally means the true king was taken up by the Guru Hargobind Singh, sixth guru. This title was very symbolic as Guru Hargobind became the guru at the age of eleven after his father and last guru Arjun Dev were martyred in the Mughal custody. Therefore, the idea of being a true king was not just limited to making a spiritual but a subtle political statement too. It also coincided with the deviation of Guru Hargobind Singh to militarize a Sikh army away from the essential Sikh idea of inner spiritual experiences. This also made Sikhs different from the other Bhakti followers, who saw nam marg as that of non-violence away from worldly affairs. For the Sikhs, it was never limited to spirituality, and they rather saw it in the light of worldly activities created by almighty himself. So the spirit then shifted to the idea of creating a well-balanced order in the world.
