Name the tissue that: (i) forms inner lining of our mouth. (ii) forms soft parts of leaf, stem, root and fruit.
1) Stratified squamous epithelium forms the inner lining of the mouth. This tissue gives protection against mechanical injury and also blocks the entry of germs. 2) Parenchyma makes up the chloroplast-laden mesophyll (internal layers) of leaves and the cortex (outer layers) and pith (innermost layers) of stems and roots; it also forms the soft tissues of fruits.
