An electric oven of 2 kW power rating is operated in a domestic electric circuit (220 V that has a current rating of 5 A. What result do you expect? Explain.

P = 2 kW ⇒ 2000 W            V = 220 V as , P = VI            I =5A 2000 W = 220 × 5 2000 W ≠ 1100            Here power and value of VI is not same that means the current required for the oven is more than 5 A that the circuit can supply.            Hence due to overloading, the circuit can break or catch fire.
