Dichotomous branching is found in (a) liverworts (b) pteridophytes (c) fern (d) Funaria
Option A Dichotomous branching is characteristic feature of liverworts e.g. Riccia, Marchantia, Pellia etc. It is a primitive form of branching. It is also called forked branching. In liverworts the thallus is flat and dorsiventral and dichotomously branched. The thallus has a notch at the anterior end. At the base of the notch, there is a growing point consisting of a single apical cell. It divides repeatedly to form two branches of the same size.
