Option D Estrogen is the female sex hormone secreted from ovarian follicles and stimulate the development of female secondary sex organs. C. Progesterone is a steroid female sex hormone which is also known as pregnancy hormone. It maintains the inner lining of uterus which aids in implantation of embryo in the uterus.  Corpus luteum is formed in ovary after ovulation and degenerates in absence of pregnancy but if pregnancy occurs it persists and secretes progesterone and oestrogen hormones.
