(a) Bromine water test is used to distinguish between saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbons. (b) When ethanol is burnt in air, carbon dioxide and water are formed. (c) In a reaction of methane and chlorine, H is displaced by Cl. Hence, it is called substitution reaction.
