Tegmen develops from A. Funiculus B. Chalaza C. Inner integument D. Outer integument
Option C The seed coat is the outermost covering layer of a seed which is composed of two layers or integuments. The outer integument gives rise to the outer layer known as testa, and the inner integument gives rise to the inner layer known as tegmen. Testa is hard and leathery which protects the seed from the harsh environment. Tegmen is a delicate layer of seed which also serves as its protective unit.
