Option C DNA is a polynucleotide chain made up of several nucleotides. The nucleotide is the basic fundamental unit of DNA. The nucleotide of DNA is made up of three components. 1. 5-carbon sugar (deoxyribose sugar) 2. Nitrogenous base (purine or pyrimidine) 3. Phosphate group The nitrogenous base is linked to the pentose sugar through a N-glycosidic linkage at 1'C pentose sugar forming a nucleoside. (The carbon atoms in the pentose sugar are numbered as 1′, 2′, 3′, 4′, and 5′).
