There are two types of eruptions in phrases of activity, explosive eruptions and effusive eruptions. Explosive eruptions are characterised via gas-driven explosions that propels magma and tephra. Effusive eruptions, meanwhile, are characterised via the outpouring of lava without enormous explosive eruption.
