Option D.The similarity based on common origin, the similar basic plan of organisation and embryonic development is called homology. The similarity in appearance and function is not necessary. The organs which have a common origin, embryonic development and same basic structure but perform different functions are called Homologous organ. The homologous term was given by Richard Owen.
