Plasmid is (A) Plasmid DNA (B) Mitochondrial DNA (C) Bacterial chromosomal DNA (D) Bacterial extrachromosomal DNA
Option D.Plasmids are small extrachromosomal circular DNA present in bacteria. They are separated from a chromosomal DNA and replicate individually. Very rarely they are present in archaea and eukaryotic organisms as well. They usually carry some genes like antibiotic resistance genes into host organism. These genes provide added advantage to the bacteria.
