Why are spider monkeys so called?
A spider monkey is a species of New World monkey (from the American continent) that has long, slender, spidery limbs. It displays brilliant acrobatic skills, using its palms and robust tail to grip branches as it swings through the trees. Spider monkeys only travel on precise routes thru trees, marking the branches with their own individual scent as they go.
