Why did ancient Romans build aqueducts?
The Romans constructed aqueducts to deliver water to the cities. Sometimes, the water could be carried from rivers or streams as a long way as ninety five kilometres (fifty nine miles) away! They used herbal gravity to deliver the water over such long distances. Wherever there changed into a depression, partitions or arches have been constructed over it to keep the water flowing. The water turned into saved in a large tank, or castellum, withinside the city, from in which it became dispensed to public fountains and baths
