What was the Declaration of Independence?
On four July 1776, representatives of the 13 colonies met in Philadelphia and declared independence. Britain become not satisfied and refused to surrender such profitable colonies. The War of Independence began. Fierce battles had been fought proper up till 1783. George Washington led the Continental Army, which sooner or later defeated the British.
