Why is his Italian campaign so famous?
In 1796, Napoleon led the French troops in an invasion of Italy. A real General, he mingled together along with his infantrymen and received their trust. He defeated the Pope’s navy and took over a number of the papal land. The following year, he took Pope Pius VI prisoner, and the Pope died in captivity. The Treaty of Campo Formio with the Italians become made in 1797.It gave Napoleon energy over maximum of northern Italy. The Italian marketing campaign turned into one of his greatest, at some stage in which he captured 160,000 prisoners and 2,000 cannons. His army fulfillment made him a famous political parent in France.
