The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Indian Oil Corporation for the relocation of cheetahs from Africa to India. According to the MoU, IOC will contribute Rs 50.22 crore for over four years for the project. The total cost of the project is currently Rs 75 crore. Indian and Namibian governments earlier signed MoUs for introducing Cheetas in India.
