Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports is located at Patiala. Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports commonly known as the National Institute of Sports (NIS). It is the Academic Wing of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) It is Asia's largest Sports Institute. This Institute is popularly known as the “Mecca” of Indian Sports. It was established by the Government of India on 7th May 1961.
