State the difference in the position of women between the Early Vedic and Later Vedic Age.

In the early Vedic age, women were symbolised with respect. The notion of marriage became a blessed act. Daughters had the utmost privilege to marry the man they wanted. Widows were allowed to remarry. No instances of child marriage are seen during this age. In the later Vedic age, the position of the women came to a halt. Their status during yajnas was not considered crucial. Their choice to marry the person they wanted was diminished. Final Answer Early Vedic age considered women as a prominent figure in the society. The later Vedic age however, reduced their status as a persona in the society.
