List any four vows prescribed for the Jains.
There were four vows that were to be preached by a Jain householde. It included Ahimsa i.e. Non-violence, Achaurya or Asteya i.e. no to stealing, Satya i.e. speaking truth and Aparigraha i.e. not to possess property. There was also a fifth vow which was only added by Mahavira and it was called as Brahmacharya i.e. to practice chastity. The four vows that were prescribed for Jains included Ahimsa, Achaurya, Satya and Aparigraha.
