Vardhaman Mahavira was the last and twenty-forth of Tirthankaras who founded Jainism. His name Vardhamana refers to prosperity and Mahavira referred to someone who is brave. His birth led to the rise of prosperity in his father’s kingdom and his brave deeds named him as Vardhamana Mahavira.
