With reference to the sources of information about Jainism and Buddhism, state the significance of the following: (c) Jatakas
Jatakas tells the stories about Buddha’s births. It also tells about the social, economic and political life of people at the time of Buddhists. Some jataka tales also have similarities with Mahabharata and other religious texts which are non-Buddhists. They also reflected Buddhists’ ethics, principles and morals. Jatakas were basically the Buddhist texts which explained about the Buddhists morals, ethics and some tales which were much similar to non-buddhists texts.
