The Cholas designed their temples within the ancient method of the Pallava rule, They were also influenced by the Amaravati faculty of design. The Chola artists and artisans were an important role players and they were influenced by different arts and fields of study and elevated the Dravidian temple style to larger heights. The Chola kings designed various temples throughout their kingdom, usually located in the plains, Central and Northern province, and sometimes as additionally neighboring components of recent state and state. Within the evolution of the Chola temple design, there are some three major phases, starting with the first section, beginning with Vijayalaya Chola, and continued until Sundara Chola, the center section of Rajaraja Chola and Rajendra Chola once the achievements scaled heights ne'er reached before or since and also the final section throughout the Chalukya Chola amount of Kulottunga Chola I until the death of the Chola empire.
