Who invited Babur to India? Why?
After losing Samarkhand in Uzbekistan for the third time, Babur turned his attention to build his empire in north India. .In 1524, Daulat Khan Lodi, a rebel of the Lodhi family line, invited Babur to overthrow Ibrahim and become ruler. Babur defeated Ibrahim Lodi at the First Battle of Panipat in 1526 and established the Mughal empire. The tussle between Daulat Khan and Babur finally culminated with the battle of Panipat in 1526, wherever Ibrahim Khan Lodi lost his life. Babur was thus made the ruler of the Mughal Dynasty. His fifth attack i.e skirmish of Panipat denoted his prosperity and changed the political history of India. Ibrahim Lodhi was the leader of Delhi and accordingly, Daulat Khan Lodhi, the legislative head of Punjab welcomed Babur to embrace a full-scale intrusion to deliver retribution.
