The Bhakti movement started taking form in the 12th century by taking roots seen from Indian philosophy by Shankaracharya. The word bhakti denotes the devotion of a person towards the lord. 1.Universally there are various gods revered by people in different societies but according to people who belong from the bhakti period believed that God is One but just known to people by different names. They believed people should showcase their dedication through love and devotion. 2.A guru is the main key to attain the root of bhakti hence guru is known to be given respect and helps a person to be on the path of enlightenment.
