With reference to the making of Indian Constitution explain the following: (b) How was the membership of the Constituent Assembly reduced as a result of partition of the country?
The primary meeting of the Constituent assembly was conducted on December 9, 1949. The Muslim Group boycotted the Constituent Gathering to request the formation of a different province of Pakistan. Along these lines, the individuals who demanded the regions which went to Pakistan pulled out from the Constituent Gathering of India. Along with these lines, the participation of the Constituent assembly. Hence the number reduced to 299 individuals against the first number of 385 individuals. Because of the partition, under the Mountbatten plan, a different Constituent assembly of Pakistan was set up on 3 June 1947.
