Louis XVI had to give in the recognition to the National Assembly. The powers of Louis XVI had to be under the check of the Constitution. The decree was passed for abolishing the feudal systems of obligation and taxes. The Clergy and Nobility gave up their privileges by birth. Land owned by the Church was confiscated along with the abolishment of tithes. The government was in possession of two million lives. The National Assembly was recognized by Louis XVI along with the Estates-General which would give a constitutional check.
