Explain any five features of the constitution of 1791 , framed by the National Assembly in France.

Explanation The French constitution of 1791 had the following five features: Constitutional monarchy- The constitution of 1791 created by the national assembly made France a constitutional monarchy. In this system, the monarch would remain monarch but the legislative powers would reside in the hands of the national assembly. National assembly- the national assembly is indirectly elected by the active citizens. Once chosen, the national assembly would keep control of the country. Right to vote- the constitution of 1791 opened up the voting system for people to choose their representatives but in turn, it had created a set of conditions that the citizens had to follow. The voting was only opened to the men aged 25 years and above and who paid taxes which was equal to at least three days of wage labor. Power of national assembly- the national assembly had the power to make laws. It is voted by about 50000 electors and continued by 745 members. It could keep control of both king and ministers. Declaration of man and citizens- the constitution began with the declaration of rights of man and citizens. Rights that are natural and basic and were debarred in the ancien regime such as the right to life, freedom of speech, freedom of opinion equality before the law were established as national rights. The five features such as constitutional monarchy, national assembly, right to vote, power of the national assembly, and the declaration of human and citizens were reflected in the constitution of 1791.
